Army’s 6ID cites 7 wounded soldiers for gallantry
MAGUINDANAO – Seven soldiers wounded in separate encounters with local terrorists last month got citation medals Tuesday from the Army’s 6th Infantry Division.
Major Gen. Juvymax Uy, commander of 6th ID, led the pinning of medals for gallantry in combat to the seven soldiers at a hospital in Camp Siongco in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

They were awarded with medals in recognition of their dedication to military service, for putting their lives on the line while out on security missions,” Uy said.
The seven soldiers were wounded in encounters with gunmen belonging to the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters in different towns in Maguindanao last month.
The BIFF, operating in the fashion of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, is tagged in all deadly bombings in central Mindanao since 2013.
Uy, also commander of the Army-led anti-terror Joint Task Force Central, also gave the soldiers tokens during the simple medal pinning rite in the Camp Siongco Hospital. (John Felix Unson)
