Zamboanga Sibugay Gov. Wilter Palma has clarified what the “DOH Registered COVID-19 Confirmed Case under the Province” meant.
The Department of Health has registered two confirmed COVID-19 cases for the province. But the patients no longer live in the province.
Although the two came from the province, they are not in the province at the time of the report from DOH.
The first case, confined at the Manila Doctors Hospital, according to Palma, in a statement, was a resident of Barangay Taway, Ipil.
After an investigation, the governor said, the patient lives and works in Manila. The patient has no longer travel history to the province since January 2020.
Also, the second patient, who hailed from Tungawan town, had left the province “sometime in February and no known travel history to the province” since then. The patient is confined at the Vicente Sotto Medical Center in Cebu City.
Zamboanga Sibugay, along with nine other provinces, has remained free from COVID-19, said Palma. (Mindanao Sun)
